FINDING BALANCE ALGORITHM

Comprehensive Falls History

A detailed history of falls and their circumstances should be completed. This would include:

  • Dates

  • Time of day

  • Location

  • Circumstances surrounding the fall such as:

    • What the client was doing at the time of a fall

    • The person's belief as to the cause

    • Any associated symptoms preceding and after the fall 

  • Details of any fall-related physical and/or psychological injuries

  • Post-fall interventions

  • Severity and duration of any changes in ADL/mobility status

  • The person's confidence walking/fear of falling.
