Virtual Classes

We are excited that you are interested in participating in one of our virtual classes! We look forwards to helping you take steps to improve your mobility and maintain your independence.

Chapter 1: Getting Started with Zoomers on the Go

 

In this chapter, you will learn about important information including what to do when you have a new participant, health screening and informed consent!

Chapter 2: Leadership and Communication Sills

 

In this chapter, you will learn about developing a teaching style, different learning styles, formations and cueing.

Chapter 3: How the Body Works

 

In this chapter, you will learn about how our bodies move, the skeletal system, muscular system, breathing and posture.

Chapter 4: Zoomers Class Design and Development

 

In this chapter, you will learn about the design and development of a Zoomers class. This includes how to modify intensity, balance and stretching segments and a sample class.

Chapter 5: Safety

 

This chapter will provide you with general and personal safety information which includes addressing concerns around falls, temperature, liability and scope of practice.

Chapter 6: Focus on Falls

 

In this chapter, you will learn about fall risk factors and how we can reduce falls in older adults

Chapter 7: Physiology of Exercise

 

This chapter touches on aerobic activity, muscle strength and endurance, balance, coordination and physical activity guidelines.

Chapter 8: Aging and Physical Activity

 

In this chapter, you will learn about the importance of physical activity and aging and the benefits of physical activity for older adults.

Chapter 9: Special Considerations and Adaptations

 

This chapter touches on chronic conditions that might be seen in a Zoomers class including arthritis, heart disease, high blood pressure, osteoporosis and more.

Chapter 10: Zoomers on the Go Education Information

 

In this chapter, you will learn about medication and falls, eating, sleep, safety while out and about and tips for a successful start of your Zoomers class.
